seriously what is going on with the pricing for these tools. i’m currently looking at my subs and realizing i’m paying way too much for things that basically do the same thing.
i've been using scite priced 20$ amazing for checking if a study has been supported or contrasted by newer research, but that price point basically doubles your entire research budget on its own.
For elicit i pay $49 (because the 12$ one is useless for me). it’s alright if you specifically need to build tables, but honestly it’s kind of a one-trick pony and the credit system is annoying if you’re just trying to do regular searches.
I find Scira $15 for pro. it’s actually decent because it’s open source and the extreme search mode is pretty thorough, but i'm still figuring out if it can replace anything or just deccent for this price.
Then there is notebookLM for 19.99$, it’s good for working with your own PDFs and notes, but it only works with what you already upload. If you do not have good sources, it doesn’t help much. i’m honestly just trying to cut back. has anyone actually managed to get their whole research workflow down to just one or two tools? If yes, which one you are using?
