Spotify has expanded its interactive AI DJ feature to four new languages — French, German, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese — alongside launches in Austria, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, South Korea, and Switzerland. The feature is now available in more than 75 countries, having previously been limited to English and Spanish.
Each new language version comes with a distinct AI DJ persona and name tailored to its market. The feature has evolved significantly since launch, moving from passive music commentary to a fully conversational experience allowing users to request tracks, shift mood or genre, and interact via text or voice in a manner similar to mainstream AI assistants.
The expansion is part of Spotify’s broader push to embed AI across its platform, including prompt-driven custom playlist creation for both music and podcasts.
