 | Some may say this is off topic, but I’ve been posting in gaming subs today, and I feel like I owe a post to the good people of ChatGPT. I always wanted to make video games but I couldn’t get over the learning hump. Last year I had the realization that these ai’s could code so I started asking Chat to write me some code. After a couple days learning to code I realized something I hadn’t truly appreciated before, AI is allowing us to ask specific, nuanced questions and get reliable answers 95% of the time. This has completely changed the way I look at the world. I just started learning day and night using ChatGPT as a teacher and after a couple months, I had built something pretty cool but not near finished. Then I realized codex was a thing and codex helped me build something I thought I would never be able to. I’m afraid of what AI means for the future of our species, but it’s the greatest tool and piece of technology our species has ever created. I never thought I would be grateful for a LLM, but it’s helping me create things I didn’t think were possible. I think it’s a great equalizer at the moment in the sense it puts us all back on the same playing field. What you create with it is only going to be limited by your drive for knowledge.
