Jeff Bezos’s artificial intelligence venture, Project Prometheus, is close to closing a $10 billion funding round that would value the startup at $38 billion, the Financial Times reported Monday. JPMorgan and BlackRock are said to be among the investors in the round, which had not yet been finalised.
Bezos, who is among the company’s initial backers, has been leading fundraising efforts alongside co-chief executive Vikram Bajaj. The startup, co-founded by Sherjil Ozair and William Guss, is focused on applying AI to engineering and manufacturing across computers, automobiles, and spacecraft.
The raise reflects sustained investor appetite for AI ventures as technology spending continues to reshape industries globally.
