Prompting my LLMs feels like this scene from "The Court Jester" (1955) where the witch is hypnotizing the fool

I just watched this classic with the brilliant Danny Kaye as the court jester (highly recommended if you like physical comedy and rapid-fire wordplay). This scene, though, felt exactly like prompting LLMs.

First he's sychophantic:

Witch: You have a great knowledge of science?
Fool: Oh yes! As a matter of fact I have a great deal of scientific knowledge.

Then she hypnotizes him:

Witch: You are in my power and will obey my every command.

She proceeds to feed him the role, and he bumbles off and, miraculously, (mostly) gets it right.
