Just like the title says.
It is very nerve-breaking when a reviewer says I will increase my score accordingly and then just go on with his life while you keep refreshing your open review console waiting for him.
I don’t understand the point of saying I’ll
Increase my score and not
Doing it immediately???
Had one who did that to me yesterday, my whole Friday was ruined. He waited until late afternoon to do the score change. And today I had a reviewer who waited 1 hour before the acknowledgment deadline to acknowledge my rebuttal. He said it is he would increase but hasn’t yet.
Now I have to go through the entire process of waiting and stressing over this and potentially having to send a note to the AC to tell them the displayed grade is not an increased grade. It’s just the initial grade, and the reviewer never increased anything despite saying they would. I have to do all that because if the AC reads the discussion and then sees the grade, they’ll assume the reviewer did increase the grade as they wrote, which is misleading.
#exhausted
These conferences are very prestigious and look nice on a resume, but they do take a toll on you. I haven’t been able to be productive in any way yesterday and have to go through the same stress today until this reviewer decides to actually respect his words. If he doesn’t, I will have to send a message to the AC, risking the AC being pissed at me and penalizing my paper.
Upgrading a score is a 10s task unless you’re the queen or king of procrastination. That should be feasible within minutes of acknowledging the rebuttal.
